Hi, am hoping for a bit of guidance here please.
I'm selling a bulk lot of programmes (approx. 150). I originally chose Collect Only as it is quite heavy but I have been asked if I would post.
I got a quote from Royal Mail for 1st class signed for but it was quite expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations for who else I could use?
For information, the box weighs 15kg and the dimensions are approx 400mm by 400mm by 300mm.
Thank you. _________________ |

I wouldn't post a 15kg parcel. As you've found out...expensive!
I send parcels by UPS (Access Point to Door) which isn't badly priced.
Your parcel would cost £8.40 (inc VAT) and is protected up to the value of £50. Extra protection will cost a little bit more.
Or if you want to get it cheaper, UPS Access Point to Access Point would cost £6.00
For more info: https://www.upstoday.com/
Hope this helps.

The UPS website is 'Powered by Parcel2Go' and in some cases can be a little cheaper...but only just!
Also, the Parcel2Go website only includes protection cover for £20 whereas UPS is £50 (both allow you to increase the cover if needed).
It's always worth comparing the 2 websites though, as I've found out.

I sent over 130 programmes not long back.
As one bulk parcel it was priced at £19 plus change at the Post Office.
So I bought it back home, split it into five smaller packages, and it cost less than a tenner in total.
Lot of extra work for me though granted.
Next time I'll just use a courier I think.

"USELESS"? Not in my experience.
Try Collect Plus - they only take up to 10 kg so split the lot into two packages.
They will charge £8.39 for parcels 5 to 10 kg, insured up to £50 and fully tracked online. All done online through their website. Drop them off at a local shop and delivery to the buyer's address.
I have sent loads with them with no problems. Delivery in 3 to 5 working days but usually quicker. |

Thanks to all for the advice thus far.
As I work full time and I can't have anything picked up from work, the perfect solution would be if I could drop off the parcel before or after work at a local depot, rather than have it picked up. _________________ |
