I've been meaning to show this for a while as I'm sure some will find it interesting.
It's a 1959 programme for a match played in Zambia and looks like it is their first issue as it is vol 1 no. 1.
The reference to Bolton is, I believe a University in the country and not Wanderers.
Quite tired state and I have no idea if there is any value to it, but I like it.

Not seen anything like that before - very interesting.

Bear in mind Zambia was called Northern Rhodesia till independence in 1964.

I think its a really nice find, Nkana v N'Changa, can't be to many knocking about, two teams from the copperbelt.

Nkana come from the suburbs of Kitwe where the week after (as advertised Bolton Wanderers played Northern Rhodesia).

Thanks for sharing

Firstly, Heartening to see so many messages for John, I just hope he knows we are all thinking of him.

In an attempt to brighten up the evening, I have just acquired this programme from Middlesex Wanderers tour of Africa. Have other interesting items to share if this is of interest?

Here's the Northern Rhodesia programme from the game in Kitwe. As an aside, I am sure Zambia toured the North West in about 1979, I know they played Marine as I have the programme somewhere - it's one of those purple cover ones with a ship's wheel on it, think the programme title was 'Flagship'.

On the same tour as Nyasaland we played twice in Southern Rhodesia - later known as just Rhodesia before being Zimbabwe

Pictured is the second game - I don't have this one & very rare

The squad then flew on to Ghana. Before 747s the journey was long winded with the plane stopping in Johannesburg, Leopoldville (now called Kinshasa in DR Congo) and Lagos before arriving in Accra. Three games in Ghana but never seen a programme for any of those

Derby's youth team toured Zambia in April 1975 to play in the Peter Stuyvesant Trophy.

An article about this is here...

Zambia were certainly in the UK in 1978. On the 24th of October they came to Eastville. Here is the programme.

What really interesting programmes, thank you all for sharing.

I have a number of programmes from the South African league (think they are the 60's or 70's) if anyone has any interest in such items or collects such items.

I can send a list of what's available or photographs.
