Hi, over the past few weeks I have noticed that the ad panels at the top and side of this website have been throwing up some baffling selections.

My other half informs me that it is some sort of online wizardry based on my internet searches, and that the ads are "tailored to your interests".

However, I keep being regularly offered garden sheds for sale, or asked if I want to become an uber driver, neither of which are remotely on my horizons!

I wondered what selection of ads others might be getting and whether they are as ill-fitting as mine are.

Count yourself lucky mate I sometimes get Russian single ladies ads! Laughing

Not an Ad anywhere, but I have adblock in use on chrome.

As with PP, no ads at all, thanks to Adblock. I come on here to read messages, not to be pestered with unsolicited crap that I don't want and if I do want anything, I'm more than capable of making my own enquiries.

Right then, time to join the 21st century and investigate adblocks.

Am currently being asked to play game called League of Angels -- whatever that is.

Have to use that new Microsoft Edge browser which is full of bloody ads. I'll get round that when I find the appropriate ad-blocker for it.

These days, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't use an AdBlock programme. They're free and 100% effective.

I note though that, to use the Hereford Times website (I like to keep up with Hereford FC's march back up the pyramid) they won't let me read the articles unless I disengage AdBlock. That's new.
The reality is, of course, that the ads are what keeps the website free - so I can't really blame them. In fact, it's a bit hypocritical of me.
