One of the hardest to get Manchester United programmes.

It's in good condition.

The token has been removed but the space has been professionally repaired

with a blank where the token had been.

Any rough idea of what this programmes would be valued at if I put it to auction ?

This might help.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2295171

I've not found anything giving an indication of what these two sold for, but the article mentions that one sold in 2011 for £7,000.

Guess it might be nearer £10K on the right day.

Thanks for the replies.

Here's some more scans of the programme.

I wouldve thought that by tinkering with the token page would devalue it ?

Id love to have one of these, but guessing it will go for a high price if genuine ?

Mr Benn
I'll respond to your comments.
Anyone who has met me on this forum would tell you that I wouldn't display something as genuine if I knowingly knew it wasn't.
You don't know me at all to make assumptions like that!

Secondly in an ideal world no Manchester United programmes from that era would have their tokens removed. Unfortunately as with a majority of programmes back then they were removed for Cup tickets etc.
I have done none of the 'tinkering' as you put it. It came like that to me from a previous owner.
Yes because of it's genuine rarity this has become an expensive sought after programme.
Thanks for your concerns.

hi

my company sold two of these programmes a couple of years ago

they both fetched 5800 plus commission

these programmes were both in very good condition

in view of the fact that the token is missing

I think a good auction estimate would be 3800 to 4200 with a reserve of 3500

Hi Robert

so let me recap you sold two for roughly 5800k plus your commission of say 15% so the buyer was prepared to pay roughly 6500k and because mine doesn't have a token you have devalued it by roughly half even though if I were to sell I would sell privately and avoid lining your pocket?

HydeMaine - you asked for a valuation and in your opening post said how much would it go for at an auction?
You get responses from forum members having invited their input.

Then, because they have the audacity to offer their advice and input you slag them off!!! If you're such as expert why bother asking for others to comment.

Take the chip off your shoulder or don't bother inviting people to comment on your posts.

PS - does it crack you up that Coldplay had more fans at the Ethiad than you had all season? Wave

line my own pocket?

what is that supposed to mean

obviously the more an item sells for the more commission I would get!

if I had a mint condition programme I would give an estimate of 5000 to 6000 pounds

what should I give? 5700 to 5900!

the question asked what would the programme sell for in auction

I am sorry I could not give the answer the gentleman wanted

good luck in finding a buyer privately

Quite agree. The poster asked for an appraisal and got a very fair and polite reply, from those with some knowledge. Very odd that the reply to the post was not quite the same, ending in a little dig. Ah well, I'm not interested in the said programme anyway. Smile
