Does anyone know if Boro produce two programmes (different covers, same content) for every match??

It's a bit cheeky!

I know Derby did it in 99/00 for the millenium but not sure why them lot down the road (from me) are doing it?!

Yep they have done this season mate. Happened when we (Everton) played them a few weeks ago. Definately a rip off for the programme collectors!

I exchange football autographs with Celtic Viking for pre 1970 English non league - South Liverpool to be exact. I recently received another batch of programmes, and in one season, 1966-7, there were EIGHT different formats of programme.
Some looked as if they'd been done at home as the style was the same, but the length was different for all of them, and they were very basically produced 4 page affairs. There was one programme that was about the same size as the mid 60's small issues so favoured by the likes of Barnsley, Reading, Notts. County etc in the early to mid 60's, the only difference being that the parameters of the programme showed that it had been neatly torn by hand rather than being cut! There was a basic typed issue, totally different to anything else, another basic single sheet home typed issue versus Morecambe, and even two programmes from the previous season with the actual date of the game typed onto the cover.
Obviously not an attempt to try and screw more money out of fans, but a genuine attempt by a club that had obviously fallen on hard times to produce something for their fans. Normal production seemed to have been in full swing come the 69-70 season as there are a full set of professionally produced programmes for all 4 of their home FAC qualifying games.
The programmes from said club in the 40's and early 50's were usually professionally printed single sheets or 4 pagers, and judging by the crowds that used to go to Holly Park - an average of about 6,000 - they will also have generated income for the club as well.
