Morpeth Town v Hereford - F A Vase Final

Congratulations to the underdogs, Morpeth, on winning the F A Vase yesterday.

In defeat, Hereford were a credit to soccer.

After receiving their runners up medals, although gutted at losing, the whole team and Management waited on the pitch for a good five minutes and formed a guard of honour for Morpeth as they returned to the pitch with the Vase.

A fine example of true sportsmanship to many teams higher up the pyramid.

Well done Hereford.

Thought it was a terrific match to watch and a great advert for the non-league game.

How about that Morpeth centre half, though? 45 years old, 4 heart operations and he's still out there playing.

I do have a soft spot for Hereford - visited Edgar Street 2 or 3 times in the 80s and a friendlier club you couldn't wish for.
