Hopefully there will be a little mileage in this question.
If nobody gets it, I will reveal the answer in 24 hours (but I'm sure somebody will)

What do the following have in common?

Terry Venables, Gordon Milne, John Hollins, Joe Baker, Derek Temple, Tommy Smith, Peter Thompson, Chris Lawler, Paul Reaney, Barry Bridges, Peter Osgood, Tony Waiters, Fred Pickering, Gordon Harris, Gordon West, Keith Newton, John Kaye, Marvin Hinton.

Were they in the original 40 man squad for the 66 World Cup, but didn't make the 22?

Just to hi-jack this thread, which lasted all of 30 minutes (well done Karb!), and apologies for that, but if anyone's interested I have action &/or portrait photos of 17 of these players for sale on my website (Joe Baker's missing!) - plus most of the actual 22.

For an order today I would offer any FPC readers 10% off my listed price on any of the 40 players in the squad, any photo, action or portrait, plus free postage for an order for 3 or more.

I know the answers been given but can I also put forward that none of these played for Chesterfield Shocked

Here is another for you? My great grandfather, Duncan Mcintyre (Third Lanark 1884-1888) is one of a few players to achieve what?

Nice one Dinky.
I was thinking on the two cups line, but couldn't get my head to narrow the link down.
