1966 Shield

My dad has owned this since 66 and we did have a box for it, something which we are still looking for.



Any ideas what it is worth ?

Any history behind it mate?
How did your dad obtain it?
Was it given to players in the tournament or something which was 'merchandise'?

Also, notice that the England 'flag' is the British one!

Not a sausage re the history, will have to have a go at the old mans brain at the football tomorrow ...im thinking that its merchandise..although after 43 years im not sure that there will be many in as mint condition as this one.

Has a matter of interest did any fellow posters attend any of the games during World Cup 66,i was at the Brazil v Portugal game (Goodison Park ) Everton ,3-1 win for Portugal remember was a balmy summers evening.

Its been in a draw for about 15 years to be honest, its probably going to be for sale soon, hence needing to find information about it.

with myself and my dad being cardiff and wales fans it doesnt really rate to highly in our interests.
