I found this in a box of random clubs youth programmes I have.

I think I'm right in saying from reading the programme notes that this was only the second time in Rotherham's history that they had played a Scottish Club at any level.

I was wondering was it normal for Celtic to send out there Youth side for a Monday night game in March on quite a long trek to South Yorkshire ?

Also from the notes Jock Stein also accompanied his Juniors for this match.

I've added a scan of the Celtic team page. Does anyone know if any of the team went onto to a decent professional career anywhere?

Thanks for any info on this.

Without digging too deep, that is likely Davie Hay and George Connelly listed, both of whom went on to have good careers with Celtic first team.

Possibly John Gorman at left back who played for Carlisle and Spurs amongst others. I think he also managed Swindon after Hoddle left to join Chelsea.

It's more of an under 21 side than youth by the look of it.

Davie Hay at left half will be familiar to most people, as will John Gorman. Jimmy Quinn went on to play for Sheffield Wednesday, Davie Cattenach had a few seasons in Scottish League football, as did George Connelly, who was also capped by Scotland

George Connelly is a stand out, superb classy midfield player.

If you have any Rangers youth programmes for sale, I can give you a good contact.
