A high percentage of the bound volumes seemed to sell and some of the tickets reached lunatic numbers
The Manchester United items sold cheap in comparison to what they had been reaching recently
A bit of stumbling about on a Manchester United v Benfica European Cup final replay which sold then didn't sell
I think Pete's Picture Palace would have done well but i am sure he will tell you himself
I think the auctioneer will be well pleased with the results but again he may tell you himself in due course |

Pete's Picture Palace reports that he didn't do very well at all, he's a bit picky and didn't fancy a lot of the duplicated and modern stuff and won 3 lots where he was only bidding on a customer's behalf so made nothing on them, apart from a Shepherd's Pie courtesy of his customer's lovely wife. A fourth lot, bought almost blind as a bit of a gamble, was a disaster. But we move on.
He did enjoy some sparring between a phone bidder and an internet bidder over the Spurs bound volumes - 12 of them, from 1911/12 to 1936/7, fetched £51,600 with the 2 buyers sort of taking it in turns. Very entertaining.
Note to self - stop talking in the third person. |

What was the story behind the Manchester United v Benfica programme? |

the bundle of early 60s stoke tickets went for a mental price (best part of 3k with commission fees thus averaging out at nearly £50 per ticket) with 2 bidders going head to head. I suspect it was because the lot had a couple of chelsea tickets in there and the usual guys were going for it. Amazing return for the seller. |

got my two WHU match worn shirts as I was the only bidder. The Spurs bound volumes were crazy - two fetched £10K each - blimey. Only watched on internet for a while though |
