Be careful what you say John as the seller posts on here occasionally.

It'll be on for £499 next week then £199 and then probably get taken off.
Seller has their own 'process' and seems happy to sit on tons of of good but highly over-priced items.

I can only comment accurately on the rugby league items which are always 200% higher than anyone else on Ebay!!

Good luck to all sellers in a saturated market. Why not put your stuff on at 99p and you will find each item's value. Or, a sensible starting price?

Still at £899 so no surprise it hasn't sold yet.

I absolutely understand this way of sellers selling though. There are some people who are prepared to pay very good money for the things on their wants list, but sometimes they are in a minority of one (like you, I'm talking about RL stuff specifically). The 'problem' for the seller with such items, is how to get top dollar: using eBay in this way is similar to an offer list. Starting at 99p might find a 'market price', but this is only ever 50p or £1 or whatever more than the second keenest person. I think there's often a large disparity between what the most keen and the second most keen would pay, so a seller cannot rely on an automatic bidding tool then.

I have no issue with this: if it starts silly, leave it. If it drops to a price you're happy to pay, take it. Always puzzles me though when people say something sold 'for more than it's worth' in an auction.

I have much bigger issue with people who buy up good stuff from other people's clubs purely to keep to swap for stuff they want. That really does tie stuff up, and keep it out of the hands of those who really want it (I can see why people do it, and feel I'm heading down this slippery path myself, but would argue it's only 'cos others are at it, so I have no choice Sad )

^ I think we BOTH know who this is ^ Cool
They'll end up carking it and the stuff will end up in a skip because they're too stubborn to sell! I try and avoid the one or two muppets who operate like this.

Thumbs Up

Nice of the seller to include all the tournament results in the listing though
