64 years ago (1951/2 season) and a Lancashire Combination fixture between Nelson and the Blackpool ‘B’ team.

The programme is a 6 page gate-fold style issue with notes appropriately entitled ‘Nelson’s Column’, team line ups and a half time scoreboard.

Unfortunately there are no fixtures listed or a league table.

I don’t have the score as I am currently in the middle of researching all Blackpool’s Lancashire Combination and West Lancashire League matches and this game hasn't shown up yet.

Single sheet issue for this Central League fixture.

3-0 victory for the home team.

Another Central League issue, this time from 48 years ago.

Match ended in a 1-1 draw.

15 years later, John McAlle would be concluding his career wearing a Derby shirt.

Can't find a Palace programme to hand dated 24th December, but my search uncovered this gem (given out with programme v Sheff Weds on 22nd Dec):

Christmas 1973 at Selhurst Park

And a Very Happy Christmas to all the Forum members (and my team) who have made this such an enjoyable season so far. And thank you all for your interest and custom.

Thumbs Up

One for you Pete, a few days late but I've only just found how easy it is to upload these from my Twitter account! A game you probably attended - 31,456 watched a 1-1 draw, I know Peter Lorimer got our goal and suspect yours was a twice deflected toe-bunter that was offside!

Will make sure any future contributions are on the correct day such as the Stirling one I posted earlier today Thumbs Up

77 years ago (1938/9 season) and a 1st Division fixture between Everton and Blackpool.

A superb 32 page programme was issued which must be one of the best ever pre-war programmes.

It is packed full of information, articles, facts, figures and even a crossword.

Everton won by 4 goals to nil.

Well, Ruud, my old mate, not only do you need to brush up on your Scottish geography Laughing but after John Craven fired our superb equaliser from a pass by Willie Wallace, Palace had this blatant penalty shout turned down....

I was there of course, at the other end, and I'm still getting over this injustice!

John Craven, that name brings back some great memories.

Another of the old school of tough tackling players who was classed as a utility player and played in nearly every position for Blackpool.

Clearly ball to hand Pete Laughing

Not done to well today with this and my Stirling faux pas!

I can though perhaps save myself with a bit of knowledge that may not be known to all...

Following his career as a professional footballer John Craven successfully fronted BBC Newsround for many years

Though the 'Shire (my Scottish team) presently play in Stenhousemuir!

Bit of a festive feel to the Derby v Leeds programme from 24th Dec, 1960.

We must have been feeling over-hospitable because the points went up to Yorkshire. 3-2 to Leeds.

15,185 in attendance.

Merry Christmas Pete, always look forward to your daily input of Palace progs and pics, would sometimes like to add to your piece but have for some unknown reason unable to insert the pictures. Keep up the good work.

Christmas Day 1934-35. Brentford v Plymouth Argyle. A damp squib 0-0, in front of 23,786 spectators. Brentford went on to finish as Champions of Division 2 and Plymouth ended just above mid-table in 8th place.

The team page.
