Can I just say that I absolutely hate, big time, the "commentary"/jabbering of whoever is in the studio when the draw is going on, eg "Tony Pulis's West Brom, winners in 1968, will play" etc.

I turned the sound off.

Evening Pete, I see Palace are playing Saints in a repeat of the 1976 Semi Final!! Laughing

Salford v Derby!!

Once Chris Martin has completed his hat-trick within the opening 7 minutes and the Class of '92 have got disillusioned and gone home they could then, perhaps, shift to a tasty tie like...Eastleigh v Bolton?

Derby are 66/1 for the Cup. Worth a punt?

Crystal Palace were my tip for the Cup before the draw.

Still are.

I agree completely.
I am coming to the end of writing a football book and my chapter on the FA Cup focused on it's decline in recent years.
Too much waffle, constantly changing draw day and time etc.
Bring back Monday 1pm and just a bag of balls.

If you were guaranteed their best sides, Southampton v Palace.

Wycombe v Villa and Exeter v Liverpool in the hope of an upset.

Eastleigh v Bolton for their 15 minutes of fame and possible upset.

Tottenham v Leicester because.....COYS!

Home to Blackburn for my lads, Rovers being one of the four (old 92) league clubs that we've never played domestically.

The other three being Liverpool, Man United, and Stoke.

Probably not the tie either of us really wanted, but not the worst draw in the world either.

Would've preferred a trip to Ewood personally, but can't complain after eleven successive away draws in FA & League Cups.

Its a new ground and a day out for us so depending when the match is played, there could be a few down...trust me you wouldn't of want to play at Ewood in front of 4000 in a 31000 capacity ground. Hopefully a near full house should make it a proper cup-tie Thumbs Up

If Walsall get through the replay, then there will be an edge to the 3rd round tie v Brentford. Smile

I just hope we don't play a mixed XI of squad players as we did v Brighton last year at home. I hate that.

We have the Cup game on Saturday, hopefully not going to change, then Middlesbrough Tuesday at home and then Burnley at home on the Friday on sky tv, 3 games in 7 days. I can see changes for the Cup match as Middlesbro' and Burnley will probably seem the more important. Mad

Not that many great ties, Exeter get another good draw though!

The FA Cup has too much influence put on it by tv companies. Why are/were so many matches played Sunday in the last two rounds? Just for the BBC? Most supporters would prefer the 3pm Saturday slot. Having the round spread over 4 days doesn't create a better product IMO. Same with the draw. Have it at 5.30pm Saturday afternoon......much more exciting! Smile

Best of luck to all!

The three games I would choose would be:
Wycombe v Villa
Exeter v Liverpool
Spurs v Leicester

Oooooohhhh, now that we've joined the big boys like Ipswich Laughing Laughing Laughing

Will be watching the Cup draw as normal at SUFC Academy tonight with extra added enthusiasm.

Last year, two minutes before we drew Preston

Hoping for one of the 31 teams that the little un's haven't visited yet as its clear we have no chance against anyone else left in the competition.

But will probably hear, Sheffield United away to Bury Crying or Very sad

not a bad guess-just another 5 miles South-it is a matter of if YOU score you will win as we cant hit a barn door Laughing

I should have known, was only there on sunday after coming back from Liverpool. Dan wanted to visit the cricket ground after taking in the delights of Prescot Cables Laughing

The boys are happy, Dan's been before but Macca's never been to watch a game at Old Trafford, although he's lured me into the store twice Sad

Looking forward to a great day out.

Another 3rd Round trip to Ipswich.....recent visits in 2006 and 2008 saw Pompey win 1 v 0 on both occasions. The last two league outings in 2011 and 2012 saw Ipswich win 1 v 0 on both occasions!!

Should be a good turnout by the Pompey faithful, I enjoyed the visit in 2008 when David Nugent scored the only goal (he does like scoring at Portman Road!) on our way to winning the Cup! Fancy our chances of sneaking a win or at least getting a replay......we are playing better away from home at the moment!! Smile

Hopefully it'll be played on Sat the 9th mate, Newport RFC are home that day but the County have an agreement in place where our fixtures take priority.
It was a prerequisite of the League allowing us to play there.

Sadly that might change if BBC Wales show an interest in screening it live, and it could feasibly on that basis be moved to a Sunday.

However as our name isn't "Wrexham" I'd be surprised if they do show an interest.
It'd be a first if they did.
