sad to hear the news today on this Liverpool Legend. One of Shankly's original team he is famed for carrying on in 1965 FA cup final with a broken collarbone. That kind of bravery is unheard of today in modern football. I met him once and he was a really nice bloke, had plenty of time to chat. RIP Gerry

Very sad news. He lived here in Prestatyn and always had time to talk football. I believe he had been unwell for some time but that doesn't make his passing any the less sadder. Another great lost. RIP.

Very sad news. I was just too young to see him play for the first team but managed to see him in his testimonial game in 1970 where he was marking the great Stanley Matthews.

RIP

A few months ago I picked up this wonderful framed image of the Liverpool v Leeds Final signed by Gerry Byrne, Roger Hunt and Ian St John.
Not done anything with it yet as being a Spurs fan it's not going on my wall.
It seems appropriate to share following the sad news about Gerry. RIP.
