Due to space issues I am thinking of stopping buying programmes from the past and only buying present day and ongoing programmes in the upcoming future. Has anyone else come up against this dilemma and taken this option?
Thanks |

From a personal point of view I'd stop collecting the new ones and keep going for the old.
I just prefer the older ones.
With collecting I suppose it's a dilemma whatever you do
good luck! |

Agreed, if space was an issue, I'd much rather not have the modern tat _________________ www.programmehut.com - The Internet Dealers

If money was an issue I'd definitely stop buying old programmes as the odd ones I still need cost me a fortune when they turn up.
But if space was the issue I wouldn't hestitate to stop collecting the current ones. |

Personally, being not just a programme collector but also records, books, liner menus and a few other oddities, I've always preferred the "Aladdin's Cave" look to that of a showhouse.
But I don't have a wife nagging me to keep things tidy!
My advice would be to defer the decision and see how you feel in, say, 10 years time _________________ http://www.flickr.com/photos/derby1884/sets/ |

Ditto from me also keep the old and bin the new, when new becomes old it will not be worth the cost of a single match to turn it to glossy ashes
I wavered at the start of this season about continuing but caved in!.
I put it down to anti social activities like smoking nowadays[I gave up 12 years ago 80 a day man ] it is all about the habit and nothing else as when you break that habit in time you may well wonder why u bothered in the first place!

I tried stopping for a day back in 1989 - was hell.
Been back on it ever since, sadly.

Derby - I saw you mentioned liner menus. We have quite a few if you are interested. PM me with your exact requirements and I'll dig them out and see if I can add to your Aladdin's Cave! |
Hi Mark
I have just sent you a PM |

If it's a space issue then surely stopping buying the modern ones is the simplest solution. There's nothing in them that you can't find online, they're expensive, bulky and worthless from a resale point of view. But obviously that mean making a break from having the physical programme in your hand at a match. Like most on here I think I haven't been able to make the leap yet, even at away matches. |

I stopped buying current issues a few years ago, space was the reason. |
