Need some help fellow forummers.

It has nothing to do with football, but is a badge so you never know, someone might have it/find one on their travels.

Here's the story. The Gloops club was a kids club in the 50's and 60's, maybe even earlier. In Sheffield, it was run through the local newspaper. They gave badges and certificates for good deeds and community work.
They also gave club badges for good attendance at school. My father in law missed out on his Gloops badge by 1 day at school, due to the house roof blowing off!

So, its a long running family story/joke, and with his 60th looming, it would be great if we could get hold of a Gloops badge as a gift. They are out there, but I've just not been able to find one yet.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Hey up James, I've got one of those.....

Sorry mate, its not for sale though, its my Mum's, she grew up in Carbrook/Attercliffe during and after the war, moving to Boston in 1968.I've also got a few Gloops comics from the late 40's, it ran in The Sheffield Star didn't it.

If I can find it I'll put a scan up.

Cheers Andy

It might help others on the hunt for it! The Father In Law comes of Pitsmoor originally, and would be of the same era as your mum.

Have you tried any of the toy specialists / badge specialists that abound? There are numerous badge dealers / societies on line
