Can't go that far back unfortunately but I do have the following which is the oldest home Portsmouth Programme in my collection:
Portsmouth Reserves v Luton Town Reserves 28th February 1931 London Combination.
Funnily enough the front cover picture on the programme always makes me smile (in a sadistic way) as obviously once upon a time we had the space to expand the ground unfortunately despite the Championship Years in the late 40,s the Club failed to "think ahead".........the rest is history and we are now stuck with a museum piece that needs plenty of attention/money to keep it certified safe for paying customers!!
Looking forward to seeing some late 1800,s and early 1900's programmes.....I know their out there so don't be shy!! |

The view of Fratton Park is great. Another thread with pre-war covers featuring ground views would be fabulous |

Sunderland v Sunderland Albion, 1888-89.
It could be argued that during this stage of Albion's existence the conduct of Sunderland was entirely designed to deprive their new neighbours of funds. At this point Albion were still playing on an unenclosed ground ( at Blue House Field, one of Sunderland's former homes) and not charging admission. They needed funds to establish themselves commercially, and there was also a possibility that Albion could have taken over Newcastle Road. Sunderland delayed moving to their new ground for this very reason.
In December 1888 the teams were drawn to face each other in both the FA Cup (4th Qualifying Round) and the Durham County Cup.
Sunderland withdrew from both competitions, claiming that they couldn't field a strong team, their Scottish professionals still being ineligible on residency grounds.
It is possible, however, that the refusal to play Albion was motivated by a reluctance to give them a good payday.
In fact, when public pressure led to the arrangement of 2 'friendlies' Sunderland would only play on the condition that the gate receipts went to charity.
The eagerly awaited matches took place in December 1888 and January 1889
01.12.88 Sunderland 2 v 0 Sunderland Albion
Newcastle Road, attendance: c 15,000
Yes they hated each other. If it carried on this way, the Newcastle United derby games would seem like a friendly knock about in comparison

It’s not a programme but the oldest memorabilia I have for Norwich is the handbook from 1918-19
Programme wise probably the most valuable I have are the Norwich v Rochdale cup final programme and the entire set of programmes from the 1958-59 cup run. |

This is my humble offering
Palace v Stoke, Division 2, 10th Dec 1921. Our second season in the Football League, having won Div 3 in our first season.
Obtained via Roy Calmels catalogue for a sizeable sum about 10 years ago - irresistible to me due to the piece of local history on the cover.
A mate of mine has a "Programmicard" for Palace v Southampton 26th Jan 1907, which is worth a fortune. I have a photocopy of that but it doesn't count. |

There's nothing humble about that
You just don't see Crystal Palace programmes from the 1920's
