Has anyone who is into buying and selling programmes ever ended up sometime later with buying the exact same programme they sold earlier?

@Pete so if you weigh up what you sold it for and what you bought it back for, who got the better deal albeit sometime later?

I'm sure quite a few programmes are recycled.

you quite often see a programme sell on eBay and it appear again with the same features - ie writing in the exact same place some time later. People buy with a view to either collecting or for re-sale and for whatever reason are forced to sell. I had to do this recently with a rather rare Rovers programme Crying or Very sad

I've brought Oldbury United programmes, moved them on and then got the same programme back later on in bundles. Easily identifiable as I wrote the opponents on the cover in pencil, still see them on ebay now

There are a few in the Manchester United collecting circle that have sold up and then bought them back

I've done it the other way round. Bought a 1920 Chelsea reserves v Arsenal from someone for £5 and then sold it back to years later for £25 on ebay. I didn't realise it was him until the sale went through.

I guess I have and would have been even luckier if I'd sold the photos concerned again, but to date that hasn't happened.

There was an exact cigarette card I wanted, but missed out on on ebay (but took a print of the item as it was so rare). About 6/7 years later the winning bidder sold it, and I won it - it was definitely the same one as it has the same slight marks.

Plus the bonus I was the only bidder second time around LOL!!!

I met some bird at Nuneaton v Romford in 1969-70, wrote my home number on the programme and gave it to her.

Around five or six years ago, I had started collecting again and in bundle of Romford aways I'd purchased, was this number on the back of a Boro programme that I thought was familiar.

How cool is that...can still remember her name too...

She must've been some looker if you were willing to sacrifice a programme for her Laughing

Ah, love's labours lost....it was the first game of the season and we didn't play them to late on the next term so it had all died a natural death by then.

Or maybe she didn't show up for another reason?
