Fascinating stuff.

1963 Yorkshire Rugby Union dinner-dance. I just love the comic timings and instructions.

No one ever doubted that he has an amazing collection. But thanks for your reply . I'm sure everyone who made an effort to post items will have enjoyed your kind remarks. If you want one or two big whales to show off their collections and make derogatory remarks about everyone else then that's the way to put people off the forum. There always seems someone wants to have a dig. What's wrong with some people ?

Spot on, a needless post. Have thoroughly enjoyed the thread so far, keep them coming.

I went to Brentford FC's player awards dinner last night, now at work knackered! Anyway, looking through this thread and at all the wonderful and beautiful - I think that's the right word - old menus of yesteryear, I'll post a scan later of the modern "rubbish", IMO, which doesn't get anywhere close to what has been seen and produced before.

Some lovely works of art posted, especially the pre war - First World War too! - menus of the cup winners and early tours abroad.

Keep 'em coming. Smile

Some more "modern" Portsmouth related Menu's.....

FA Cup Final 2008 Wembley Menu....

Steve Claridge Benefit dinner May 2003.

The inside of the menu has been signed by Portsmouth Legend Alan Knight and former player Vincent Pericard.

I agree the modern ones aren't anywhere near as good as some of the "works of art" that have been posted but they are still a nice memento of some great moments in a Clubs Football History, a Favourite Club Player etc.......... Clap

Here`s one for Barnsley supporters, this is the Dinner Menu, celebrating their victory over WBA in the 1912 F A Cup Final, this one has been signed on the back cover by players and officials

Another modern one from Partick Thistle's Dinner celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the 1971 League Cup win. Signed by Murdo Mcleod (manager in 1996), Davie McParland (1971 manager) and some players. Not the most ornate but a nice item in my collection.

Shouldn't expect any better but why is that comment relevant. DOes it say somewhere that only items of a certain value or vintage can be referred to in this forum?

Don't worry rob.

It's the type of comment that treble would say and look what happened to him. Laughing

100 % agreed Bazza. I merely appreciate his unrivaled knowledge on Man Utd. People get too easily offended by his sense of humour. Bring him back asap. He has a lot to offer.

For what it's worth (probably nothing) I do miss looking at his scans on here. And his humour and his advice and his knowledge on Manchester United. Must have upset the decision makers of this forum for him to be banned.
