There's also a BIN on Ebay for just over £1000.

What was the original sale price of these? I seem to recall something around £500.

These limited edition items, whatever they are, make me laugh.

Anything over 100, or perhaps in Man U.'s case a few hundred because of likely demand, is just a clever marketing trick that attempts to lure potential buyers who think they are getting something special.

How can anyone seriously offer a limited edition item when 10000 were made?

I don't know if these are the same watches but i know of a company called Klaus Kobec that used to sell this sort of shit in both the United megastore and through the United on line sales team
These watches cost them about £3 each and they put them in a nice flashed up box that cost about a tenner

They then sold them through hotel lobby showcases and advertised them in top magazines like Rolls Royce owner and British Airways in flight magazine

there was always a special offer on and the watches(remember worth £3) were always reduced from £999 or £899 down to £499

They finally got the direct line through football clubs like United
The owners were greedy and fell out so they frighteningly ended up bust
They were based in a lock up in Chorlton cum Hardy in Manchester
