Good call - what's her name?

We haven't played at Stamford Bridge in a while so I don't have any programmes to check.

Very presentable, though.......and those gloves are, err, a nice touch Smile

Derby 1884 - correct pity we can't bring back Brian Moore. Add to that Sky commentary from Martin Tyler who never ever shuts up!

Bloody silly tattoos and even sillier haircuts - short sides with a mop on top.

And the hugging Chelsea seem to go through prior to kick off.

Players ripping their shirts off after scoring, this really grinds my frickin' nuts more than anything else.

The yellow cards clearly ain't working, so start sending the vain buggers off!

Also, do away with those grotesque video screens and bring back the old "ABC" half-time scoreboards.

Those screens really grind my conkers too - especially when the "fans" spend the entire match watching out for themselves on the video screen rather than watching the ruddy match.
Spoils every World Cup etc etc for me.

And don't even get me started on coloured boots. No

What a load of fuddy-duddies we all are! However, I agree with just about all the above.

Talk of those ABC score-boards made me think of this photo which I got this week. Spurs v Arsenal 1964 - the team-changes were spelt out in front of the hoardings. I can't recall ever seeing that before. (Pic shows Spurs new signing Laurie Brown challenging his old teammates Vic Groves and keeper Jack McClelland).

Have to admit that despite staying loyal to watching England (at home games anyway) through thin and thin, the complete wallies who are in the family enclosure seats have loads of these sins.

Filming penalties on their phones, half and half scarves, face paint, the Mexican wave when it's not interesting enough, leaving on 80 minutes, and buying several copies of the £6 programme.

Nice post Bispham and some cracking replies. Clap
Another that grips my s#it, and it's in the laws of the game. It's a yellow card offence to leave, enter or re-enter the field of play without the referee's permission.
I'll bet we see it on MOTD tonight, goalscorers running off the pitch to celebrate with fans, sustitutes etc for the usual game of high fives and their team-mates following them. Substitutes running onto the pitch for the same reason.
At local level (same laws of the game) if a ref is being assessed and he doesn't issue a yellow card he will lose marks and possible promotion.
And another that gets on my threepenny bits, correographed goal celebrations (bunch of nancies).

Arsenals stadium announcer calling out players first name and then the supporters yelling out the players last name. It was topped off with "Denil.....SON". This started when Arsenal were trying to make "The Wonder of You" by Elvis to the new You'll Never Walk Alone...

And Crystal Palace got cheerleaders, I guess people will have mixed feelings about that. Laughing

Any kind of over the top goal celebration.

What was ever wrong with a nice manly handshake and then trudge back to restart the game?

Mark Lawrenson being on MOTD2 and him smugly thinking his comments are amusing
Gareth Crooks teams of the week usually picking defenders just because they score even if they had an average match

If ever anybody needed torturing behind the eyeballs with a red-hot poker, it's Crooks.
An irritant of the highest order.

Meanwhile, how Lawrenson continues to remain employed is a mystery to baffle even the finest boffin.

I won't even get started on Clive "ROOOOOOOOOOONEY" Tyldesley and that plank Townsend, I might be here for quite some time.

PS. Goal music at grounds.

A truly abhorrent modern phenomenon that makes me want to hack my ears off with a blunt butter knife.
