Sorry can't help, but they are about as I used to have a set of 88-9 Newport issues.
Made my only trip to Somerton Park for the Barnet game.. could have been 15 and not just seven!

Not a Barnet fan, but just fancied a day out. Met a County director on the train down who gave me a pass to the boardroom. Was a good day out.. I think...

Amazed it never bounced! great story though. The thing I remember most about that match was a Barnet sub winding the crowd up and being told to sit down and behave by a copper!

Jeezus.. it was September 1988.. I can't remember what happened last week.. - too much wine probably. The guy, whose name escapes, came from Dulwich and we started talking when the train had left Bristol. He had to meet John Mahoney and the squad at a hotel before the game, but said he would leave a pass for me on the board room door.
We travelled back together and one thing I do remember during the smokey, drunken fug (sic) that was the trip home, he mumbled something about this club won't last till Christmas.... he wasn't far wrong, but at least you bounced back eventually...

Would of been either Henderson, Dickie or Woods. They were the only Directors at the time along with Jerry Sherman who's now doing time in the US for a scam he pulled to gain funds for a Ice Hockey team similar to the one he pulled to try to fund County for those few months

Henderson rings a bell.. short fellah. Probably in the boardroom in the sky now as he was getting on a bit then.
His name was listed in the programme, but that is all tucked away now.

Was Bruce Henderson. Never heard anything about him before or after that season.
